Jen Wyzykowski

Hello! Welcome to my world! I have always been an artist. It’s what I know, what I do, and what I teach. I am primarily a watercolor and alcohol ink artist/illustrator but I love working in all mediums.

I was born in the Philippines, (my father was in the service) and moved to Connecticut when I was 5, and have lived in Northwest CT ever since. I love New England and the change of seasons. Being outside in nature is what inspires me most. Whether it’s the ocean, or a forest, or a beautiful garden, I can usually find something that sparks creativity.

I find comfort in using my hands to create. Making something with your hands is grounding. It takes me to a place of peace.

I received my BFA from Parson’s School of Design and worked as a graphic designer/art director for many years. After having my 2 boys, I decided to get my teaching degree, and I have been a high school art teacher ever since. While working on my MFA in Illustration, from Western Connecticut State University, I self-published a children’s book Phoebe and the Moon, which I wrote and illustrated. My illustrations have appeared in The Boston Globe and the New York Times. I have shown my work in galleries in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New York.
