Dana Rau

Dana Rau approaches the creative process with a sense of adventure, knowing that through experiments and accidents, unpredictable surprises emerge. She explores mediums of many kinds, and loves the tactile nature of felting and fiber, the saturated colors of alcohol ink, and the limitless possibilities of paper. Over her 30-year career as an author, she has written picture books, nonfiction, and biographies for children.

With a degree in creative writing and art history from Trinity College, and an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts, she spends most days in her sunny studio selling her creations, sharing her process, and teaching classes in writing and art.
